Basic Utensils and Spices Needed For Indian Cooking
British style Indian takeaways might be cheap to buy, but a lot of them have lost their authenticity. A lot of these takeaway use ready made pastes for their food. That is why nothing can beat the home style Indian dishes. A lot of people think Indian cooking is a mystery and challenging. But it is quite the opposite once you have mastered a few basic techniques. A lot of the ingredients used for Indian cooking can be brought fresh from the supermarkets.
Before you start, make sure you have the basic cooking utensils needed to prepare Indian dishes. A good quality and sturdy wok or a karahi is needed. By using a wok or a karahi you will use less oil as it is narrow from the bottom and the oil sits in a small pool at the bottom. Also a mortar and pestle will come handy for grinding spices, although you can use a coffee grinder. You will also need something to grate ginger with.
Next comes the spices, the essential spices you should have in stock are chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, small cardamom seeds, cumin seeds and cloves. Spices are very important in Indian cooking they add warmth, heat and flavour to the dishes. As you become more experienced you can add and experiment with other spices as well. Buy spices whole rather than powder and grind them when they are needed. It is best and cheaper to buy whole spices from an Indian specialist shop. Whole spices can be kept up to three months. Store them in an air tight container to keep them fresh.

Pyrex Cookware Designed For Your Microwave Oven
Pyrex have been one of the worlds leaders in the manufacture of microwave safe products and have invested to produce three unique ranges for use in your microwave oven. The pyrex team have developed these great ranges of products with microwave cooks in mind and have thought of not only unique but practical cookware for use in the home.
The style range has dishes with reversible lids which are versatile and ideal for microwaving as well as freezing foods. The lids can be used to put veg on and cook them at the same time as your heating the food in the dish and because the lid sits on the dish upside down this means dishes can be stacked on each other in your freezer or other product can be placed on top as well.
The colour change range has a lid that turns from blue to transparent to let you know when food is hot. This is not through a guide to say that food is cooked just that it has reached the desired temperature to cook the food. This is also a great indicator to warn you that the food is hot and that there may be a build up of steam in the dish. The dishes though are very stylish and will add to any cookware collection.
The cook range is designed for cooking at higher temperatures and has a steam release mechanism to let out steam while cooking. These dishes are ideal for steaming veg and fish. This range can be used to heat products up to 180 degrees celsius.
All these ranges of dishes can be put in your freezer and dishwasher, but are designed for use with microwave ovens only and not conventional ovens or grills. Pyrex have used their many years of expertise in designing cookware to come up with three superior ranges of microwave bowls and dishes to make your cooking experience safer and easier.

Are Commercial Pasta Machines Better?
Definitely, commercial pasta machines look impressive, especially the gleaming stainless steel models. Every kitchen should have a pasta maker if good nutrition is important to the adult in charge of cooking. There are two barriers working against a commercial pasta machine in the house: cost and space.
When faced by these two issues, then the idea of buying a commercial pasta equipment should probably be set aside for the time being. No sense in pressuring yourself to buy something even if you can't afford it or you don't have the space.
If, however, there are no space and money limitations, then you should consider buying a commercial pasta machine. Here are some of the reasons why:
Durability
Commercial or industrial kitchen equipment are built to last for a very long time while being used daily. If you love pasta, then you probably know what is cooked, undercooked, and overcooked pasta. You also may have tried different varieties in pasta shape and the flour or other ingredients used. Imagine if you could start making your own pasta and try out new recipes. With a commercial pasta maker, you have to chance to do this at home, without having to spend hours in the kitchen. And, it can handle the beating.
Versatility
Many commercial pasta machine have more than one kind of pasta in its set-up. You will probably be able to make 5 to 7 different kinds of pasta shapes and even more when you try different flour varieties. There will also be attachments you can opt to add to your pasta machine, and this makes the possibilities endless.
Design
A commercial pasta maker will make your kitchen look professional - even if you are not yet well versed or know your way around the kitchen very well. Still, when you have guests, your kitchen will be a showcase if you have appliances like this.
Venturing into the world of pasta will be more inspiring when you have the best equipment possible. There are commercial pasta makers that are manually operated, and others that are powered by an electric motor. Each kind has its won gratifying moments such as speed for the electric, and fulfillment with the manual.
